The Staff Edit SS26| Finding the Right Fit

A look inside our Spring/Summer collection with Sharon, Customer specialist at The House of Shoes.

Finding the right shoe is about more than how it looks. It’s about how it fits, how it feels after a full day on your feet, and how easily it works with your wardrobe.

As someone who spends my days helping customers find their perfect fit, I know that comfort means something different to everyone. This season, I'm sharing a few styles that have caught my eye, the shoes I've purchased myself and some advice on finding footwear you'll love wearing.

My Spring/Summer Picks

Nu x Neo Davina in Plata

The Davina caught my eye with its distinctive sculpted sole and versatile metallic finish, which pairs easily with so many colours. I also love the soft footbed and two adjustable straps, which help create a comfortable, personalised fit for both narrow and wide feet.

It's a great example of a style that combines interesting design with everyday wearability.

Fiorina 148J in Papaya

The vibrant woven raffia makes this style a standout. I'd pair the Papaya colour with black to let it shine, or embrace the season with other bright colours. It's a lovely way to introduce texture and personality into your summer wardrobe.

Wonders A-24100 in Off White and Silver

This isn't just another white lace-up. A splash of silver and a small panel of animal print give it a fun point of difference, while the elastic laces make it easy to slip on. The sole adds a little height without feeling too flat.

It's a versatile casual shoe that works beautifully with everything from trousers to skirts.

Everyday Comfort, With Style

The Ara New York in Sand and Cream is one I'd recommend for everyday wear. With extra width and a soft bamboo lining, it offers comfort for longer days without compromising on style.

And if you think you can't wear heels, I'd encourage you to try the Nu x Neo Querida in Roble. Its soft footbed and block heel on a platform make it a style worth considering if you usually avoid heels. The versatile colour also makes it easy to dress up or down.

The Shoes I'm Wearing on Repeat

I've purchased three styles myself this season: Pepe's Lucia in Black, Ara New York in Sand and Cream, and Hispanitas Ambar in Avellana and Butter.

The Pepe's Lucia has quickly become a favourite. I bought it just two weeks ago and honestly haven't taken it off! It's one of the most comfortable pairs I've owned, and I love that I can wear it casually or dress it up for an evening out. I recently walked in them for hours on holiday in Singapore without any trouble.

I'm also looking forward to wearing the Hispanitas Ambar throughout summer. Its versatile colours will work with so much of my wardrobe, from shorts and casual outfits to evening dresses and trousers. It's an ideal holiday sandal when you want one pair to take you from day to night.

What I'm Noticing This Season

I'm enjoying the variety of textures and materials in this season's collection, particularly details such as pony finishes and woven raffia. They offer a lovely change from plain leathers and bring something different to both everyday and statement styles.

When helping customers, I always start by understanding what they need from a shoe. Some are looking for extra width, while others have concerns such as bunions or a higher instep. Being honest about fit, offering guidance and considering how a style will work with their wardrobe and lifestyle are all part of finding the right pair.

With so many options to explore, there's often a style that brings together the comfort and look a customer is after.
