Creating an Arche shoe requires more than 120 manual operations. Skilled craftspeople shape, assemble and finish each pair, preserving the footwear knowledge that has long been part of the Loire Valley region.
This close connection between the designers and the factory also gives Arche the freedom to develop its own shapes, colours and soles. The result is footwear with an identity that is difficult to mistake for anything else.
Colour is part of the design
Arche is particularly known for colour.
Each season moves between versatile natural shades and more expressive tones, often using metallic finishes or beautifully saturated colour to transform a simple silhouette.
Rather than adding colour as decoration, Arche makes it part of the shoe’s identity. A ballet flat becomes more distinctive in metallic green. A softly structured sandal takes on a new character in warm champagne or cream. Even the quieter colourways retain a depth and texture that gives them presence.

Exceptional European leathers
The feel of the leather is another defining part of an Arche shoe.
Arche sources high-quality European leathers, including supple full-grain leather and finely textured nubuck. The hides are carefully selected for their softness, appearance and ability to hold the brand’s distinctive colours.
Each pair is cut from the same batch of leather to maintain consistency, while the quality of the hide allows many Arche styles to remain soft and flexible without heavy internal construction.
The result is a shoe that feels less rigid on the foot.
The signature beneath the shoe
Arche also develops its own exclusive soles.
The brand is renowned for its Lactae Hevea soles, traditionally handcrafted from natural rubber-tree latex. Their structure contains countless tiny air cushions, helping to create the flexibility and cushioning associated with the Arche walking experience.
More than 50 manual operations can be involved in making one of these soles. The process requires specialist knowledge and remains an important part of Arche’s French manufacturing heritage.
Across the collection, each sole is designed to complement the shape and movement of the shoe above it. This creates a sense of balance between appearance and comfort, allowing strong design to remain genuinely wearable.
The new Spring/Summer 2026 collection
The new Arche collection at The House of Shoes brings these signatures together through soft metallic ballet flats, sculptural sandals and distinctive covered styles.
The Laius ballet flat returns in four metallic colours, offering a flexible, glove-like fit in a beautifully simple silhouette. Vakwao and Vakwel explore softly shaped leather and contemporary sandal construction, while Taykho combines a striking metallic finish with a wearable 4 cm heel.
Dinaby gives the ballet flat a graphic new direction, while Parmhy offers more coverage through its softly perforated leather upper and streamlined shape.
Each style reflects Arche’s ability to make comfort feel creative, individual and refined.
