Spring Style Edit with Et La Mer: Part 2

by Dianne Sheehan, Owner/Manager

This week’s edition of our Spring Style Edit with Et la mer features two of this season’s hottest colours: brick and mustard.

Featured styles: Yuko Imanishi 702018 brick and Pikolinos 6996 lemon

Yuko Imanishi 702018 brick

This popular style has been picked up by customers as one to dress up or down for work or play, and our two outfits do just that. This brick or burnt orange colour features heavily in fashion this season, so it wasn’t hard to find a matching pair of wide leg culottes.

Teamed with a patterned top, this is a stand out casual look.

The square cut toe, diagonal cut of the leather across the top of the foot and small wooden block heel of 702018 gives this sandal a modern and smart look that works well with dresses. We found a perfect match in this green patterned dress that featured this same orange colour.

Pikolinos 6996 lemon

Pikolinos do natural colours well, and this soft lemon colour in their 6996 sneaker is subtle enough to work well with most colours easily. When done well, colour blocking is a stand out fashion statement! We opted for a mix of olive and green tones, complemented with a fuchsia bag. You could also mix a variety of yellow and mustard tones together to achieve the same dramatic result.

Another great option with yellows and mustards is to pair it with their complementary colour, blue.

We found a lot of blue-based patterns featured yellow. Otherwise, a pair of blue denim jeans would also work well for a casual look.
