Ankle boots: What I'm wearing this season

by Dianne Sheehan, Owner/Manager

It’s not uncommon to find yourself wearing ankle boots in the middle of summer in Tasmania and having a collection of ankle boots in all colours and styles is quite common. Ankle boots are a fashion item that’s here to stay, and we can always find an excuse to squeeze a new pair into our wardrobe.

II’d like to share with you my picks so far for the season.

JP David 32979 deep red

I fell in love with this brand at first sight! Handmade in Italy using beautifully soft leathers that look like they’ll give you 20+ years of wear and become gloves for your feet. And I have no doubt they will!

The deep red 32979 boot is an easy choice for that everyday casual look with jeans. It’s close fit around the ankle means it would work well with tights and a dress, or skirt, too. I’m not usually a red wearer, but this rich and deep red will work well with navy, black and rust colours in my wardrobe.

Zinda 1100 black

For a simple black ankle boot, the Zinda 1100 certainly turns heads! The ‘shark skin’ textured leather with its subtle shine gives an edge to any outfit for work or a night out. The mid heel height (5cm) means I can wear it all day long in the store with ease. This has been my favourite to wear if I want to dress up a little.

Jose Saenz 2008 black croc

Are high-top sneakers ankle boots? Some styles can certainly fall into the ‘ankle boot’ category, and I think these fashionable high-top sneakers by Jose Saenz do. Their sleek all-black design with faux fur lining has a wintery look that works with jeans or tights if you’re longing for cushioning comfort under foot. The textured croc finish in the leather is prominent this season, so these fabulous boots offer fashion, style and comfort in one!
